As well as using the traditional manufacturing and finishing techniques we are happy to employ the latest technologies to restore a wide variety of objects.  Working in close collaboration with one of the Country’s leading experts in laser cleaning, the workshop undertook to remove the tarnish from a pair of embroidered kettle drum banners. This highly controlled process can remove tarnish and dirt from otherwise uncleanable objects.  The silk fabric and associated silver and silver gilt threads were thus painstakingly treated and much of the original decorative effect restored without any damage to the underlying material.
