During 2008 and 2009 we were entrusted with the restoration of fountains and cisterns made by the Hanoverian court silversmith Lewin Dedeke between 1706-1710.  In order to maintain the exceptional original condition of the items the entire area originally burnished was restored using the same technique.   No metal at all is removed as with mechanical or conventional hand polishing and the original surface effect is maintained.  The opportunity to recover the original appearance was also achieved with the addition of localised burnished highlights which radically enhanced the overall appearance.
